Sometimes we miss Utah...

...but only sometimes. We have both lived in the US of A for a few years.
J lived there for 2 years whilst serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. L lived there with her immediate family from age 14 to 20.

When we first met, Utah and Americana culture was our conversation topic. Rest assured though, we LOVE our homeland and will never permanently immigrate anywhere else ever again. That said, of course we sometimes miss this land we grew fond of. In no particular order, here are some things we miss and would most definitely indulge in if we had the chance to visit:

Visit: FRIENDS (including mission companions, converts, mission president, L's close high school/university buddies, etc.); the neighbourhoods of Draper, Sandy, Riverton, the Avenues in SLC, Murray, Cottonwood, Park City, St George; Spy Hop Productions; all LDS temples
Take with us: African nonsense Americans love that Safricans love to sell to them
Drive: on the wrong side of the road in the wrong side of the car!
Try: Snowboarding/skiing
Tour: LDS Church history sites (ie. Temple Square, This is the Place, Ensign Peak, Conference Centre)
Stay overnight at: The Grand America Hotel, Snowbird
Eat at: Cafe Rio, California Pizza Kitchen, Bucca Di Beppo's, the German Deli
Watch: live theatre at The Hale Centre Theatre, a Jazz game
Stuff our faces with: Krispy Kremes, bagels, frosted sugar cookies, peeps, rootbeer, strawberry shakes from Arctic Circle, orange chicken from Panda Express, Reeces Pieces & most definitely Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Say in 'our' best American accents: the word 'cookie' without getting squiff looks; "moun-ens" "bu-ens" -- translated: 'mountains' & 'buttons'; "ya'll" and "How are ya?"
Spend dosh at:  Gateway mall
Purchase: a sweater from Hollister (dare you to find a Hollister in Africa..), LDS paraphernalia from Deseret and Seagull Book, magnets (for the fridge...where else?), souvenirs for our Safrican
family/friends/youth
Listen to: country music on country radio stations (ha!)
Take photo's of: everything
