Sweet, sweet Monday

Whilst some people loathe Mondays, I actually look forward to them. To me they are an extension of the weekend, just like everyone wishes they were. Lucky me! I set my schedule up so that I don't have to go in to teach at the 'office' but rather teach from the comfort of our home. Additionally I use it to run errands, study, organize the house, proofread documents, bake, and work on things required for my callings.

One of my goals this year has been to take Molly dog on plenty of walks - whether at the beach or around the hood. Every Monday I make sure Molls gets her hour walk in and oh how she loves it!
Granted most of the time it's more like she's taking me for a walk...
She takes me to visit with her favourite dogs around the corner. She loves to sniff flowers and stare at foreign objects like this tortoise we saw in somebody's front garden. Her little eyes were glued to this creature and we literally stood there for 5 minutes just watching it munch on grass.
Haha the best part of taking her for walks is that she is completely knackered the rest of the day = no mischief. :)

This is what we do...

This past week we were lucky enough to have a 5 day weekend! So what do we do in 5 days of no work? Well we work. Haha! We built a fence, painted the fence, and built a jungle gym. It was intense but rewarding. No longer can Molaylay the crazy dog escape out the big white gate. Our lamb chop has started 'in heat'...not the greatest thing to have to deal with... Our lil pup can potentially become corrupted, so in effort to keep her virtue in tact the fence fully encloses her in the back garden. Check that off the stress factor list.
On Tuesday was 'Workers Day'. Thank you government! We spent the day with the W's having a tasty lunch (braaied steak, worsies and salads! YUM!) and playing Settlers of Catan: Cities and Knights. What a fun game!
I'd say it was a weekend well spent. And holla for the weekend we've just hit! Awesome times ahead!

Oh Molaylay

Eish this dog of ours! Sometimes she drives us round the bend!
Like when she toilet papers the garden and driveway at the crack of dawn, sneaks into the bathroom to tip over the bin, digs up newly planted grass in the flowerbeds leaving us to buy new plants and re-plant them on a cooking Saturday arvie, rips stuffing out of cushions, bolts outside the gate to terrorize the neighbours dogs, making us run after her...sometimes for 10 minutes, begs for food, piddles on the bed (gross), chews up shoes, door stoppers, water bottles, cellphone chargers etc, drags unmentionables outside for all to see, purposefully stays outside when she's supposed to come in late at night, jumps on every.single.person, sneaks inside the neighbours house and climbs onto the roof, and gnaws on your hands until they look somewhat like an old piece of meat...
But then one look at those little eyes and the way she cuddles up to you for a snooze melts the heart and we can but only love love love her.
Oh Molly, (aka Molaylay the Polynesian, dolly, rat, naughty dog, fish breath) you crafty little puppy. You really have us wrapped around your little paw.

The definition of awesome

Defined by a simple picture:
Molly is in every essence of the word AWESOME.

Our 9 week old pup is growing so fast! She's learning to piddle more outside than in. We can leave her for a few hours at a time and she isn't too phased as she was the first few days we had her. I'm telling you this is a blessing because it breaks my heart to leave her when I'm off to work or shopping or any other errand. She is sleeping for more hours of the night by herself and only insists on sleeping with us at about 4:00 AM or so. Subsequently I've turned into an almost narcoleptic...need.more.sleep. She's already devoured a tennis ball we just bought her last Saturday and has learnt to bark at the gardeners and workers around the property.
On Thursday was her first visit to the vet for her vaccinations and de-worming tablets. HAHA she was completely zonked for the rest of the day. This morning we gave her the tablet and again she is sleeping away most of the day. We've never owned a dog before, so this may seem like a dof question, but how often should dogs be sleeping during the day? In my mind they should be running up and down and barking at every Tom, Dick and Harry...or rather here it would be Sipho, Thabo and Vuyo.
Our little cow sure is fantastic. We can't get enough of her.
