Celebrating Love day, the W way!

Us W's are not the celebrate-little-sort of useless-holiday's kind of people. Seeing as everyday we like to express our love without the tacky box of chocolates and red Valentine's card with words written by other people, we usually put what extra cash we have to good use and do little meaningful things the week prior to the day people go nuts over what their partner got them for V-day.
This past Wednesday evening, when J came home late after hometeaching, he surprised me with some beautiful roses! This planted a perma-smile onto my face because this is only the second time he has ever given me flowers. I just love looking at them whenever I'm cooking, or walk past the dining room table.

Then on Thursday we indulged in pizza that we rarely buy, so I didn't have to make a hurried dinner before our church meetings.  Friday night the young men in the ward organized a special Valentine's dinner for the young women and the leaders. It was thoroughly enjoyable as everyone made the effort to dress up smartly, decorate the cultural hall and serve D'LISHOUS kos. On the menu: blushing apple soup, cuddly carrots & potatoes, romantic roast beef, salad l'amour, and chocolate mousse! On Saturday we went clothes shopping and each bought ourselves a new item of clothing. We do all this because tomorrow, on actual love day, J will be away on a business trip eating his fave flave muffunzi's L made just for him, leaving L to watch all her sappy chick flicks in peace that he has no desire to see!
Who needs one official day of love when everyday can be an opportunity to show each other how much you love them?
